Delhi Police has unveiled an extensive traffic management plan ahead of the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF), scheduled to be held at Pragati Maidan from November 14 to 27, 2025. The move aims to streamline vehicular and pedestrian movement around the venue and ensure minimal disruption to regular road users.
According to the Delhi Traffic Police advisory, the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) expects large footfall from both business visitors and the general public during this year’s fair. Previous editions of IITF have often witnessed heavy traffic congestion in and around Pragati Maidan, causing delays and inconvenience for commuters.
To address this, the Delhi Traffic Police has deployed 245 personnel working in three shifts to manage traffic effectively throughout the fair period. Additional support includes 15 cranes, 16 motorcycle patrol units, and three disaster management vehicles strategically stationed near the venue. A central traffic control room has also been established in the ITPO Admin Block to monitor and coordinate operations during the event.
Dedicated entry gates have been earmarked for different categories of attendees, including business visitors, exhibitors, VVIPs, protocol guests, media personnel, and ITPO officials. Signage for entry, exit, and parking has been installed to guide visitors efficiently, while specific parking lots have been identified to accommodate the expected influx. Around the venue, ‘No Parking’ and ‘Tow Away’ zones have been clearly marked to prevent obstruction of traffic flow.
In addition to operational arrangements, Delhi Traffic Police will set up six help desks to assist visitors with navigation and provide relevant information. An awareness stall inside the trade fair will also educate attendees on road safety measures and traffic regulations, highlighting the department’s commitment to public safety.
A briefing on the preparedness for IITF 2025 was held on November 13 at Bharat Mandapam, with officers from ITPO, Delhi Traffic Police, and field staff attending. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic New Delhi Range Rajeev Kumar, emphasized that these measures aim to ensure smooth movement for both fair visitors and regular commuters, reflecting a coordinated effort between ITPO and Delhi Police to manage one of the city’s most anticipated trade events.
With these arrangements, Delhi Police is making a concerted effort to enhance convenience, safety, and accessibility for all attending the 44th IITF, while maintaining normal traffic flow in surrounding areas.
