Himani Narwal’s Mother’s Big Claim: ‘People Were Jealous As She Was Seen With Rahul Gandhi’

The shocking murder of Haryana Congress worker Himani Narwal has taken a political turn as her mother, Savita, made serious allegations on Sunday. She claimed that her daughter had made enemies within the party due to her growing stature and close proximity to influential leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and the Hooda family. Himani’s body was found stuffed in a suitcase in Rohtak, sparking demands for a high-level investigation.

Mother Blames Congress and Elections

Savita directly blamed the election and Congress party for her daughter’s death, stating, “The election and the party took my daughter’s life. Because of this, she made some enemies. These (the culprits) could be from the party, could be her friends as well.”

She further claimed that people were jealous of Himani’s association with Rahul Gandhi, particularly after she participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. “She was going with Rahul Gandhi, she was close to the Hooda family, this is why people were having problems, they were jealous,” Savita alleged.

Close Association with the Hooda Family

Narwal’s mother also revealed that her daughter shared a close relationship with Asha Hooda, the wife of senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda. “My daughter was very close to Asha Hooda. I won’t perform her last rites until she gets justice,” she asserted.

A Troubled Past and Political Disillusionment

Savita disclosed that Himani had become somewhat disillusioned with the party post-elections. “She had been working with Congress for the past ten years but had recently expressed a desire to find a job instead of continuing with party work. She had also agreed to get married and was pursuing an LL.B.,” she added.

The grieving mother also revealed that she had lost her elder son in 2011 under tragic circumstances. “My elder son was killed in 2011, and we never received justice. So, I took my younger son to a BSF camp to save his life,” she said, hinting at a history of family disputes and threats.

Hooda and Congress Demand Justice

Senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed deep sorrow over the incident and demanded a thorough investigation. “Her body is in the mortuary right now. Congress workers and local MLAs are with the family. We have demanded an investigation, and the guilty must receive strict punishment. Whether it was someone from the party or outside will only be revealed through the investigation,” Hooda stated.

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit echoed the demand, emphasizing the need for a high-level probe. “If there are doubts about a political angle, then the government should take it seriously, and police must investigate properly. If Haryana Congress is demanding a high-level inquiry, it means the lower-level investigation is not trustworthy. I also support the demand for a fair and transparent probe,” Dikshit said.
