Manish Sisodia Concedes Defeat In Jangpura As BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah Wins

AAP leader Manish Sisodia conceded defeat in Delhi’s Jangpura constituency on Saturday as BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah emerged victorious. Sisodia, a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), acknowledged the loss and congratulated Marwah, expressing hope that he would work for the betterment of the constituency.

According to data released by the Election Commission, Marwah led Sisodia by 572 votes after the ninth round of counting. By 12:41 PM, Marwah had polled 34,632 votes, while Sisodia secured 34,060 votes. Congress candidate Farhad Suri garnered 6,866 votes.

When questioned about the finality of the results, Sisodia affirmed his defeat. He mentioned that a detailed analysis of the loss would be conducted later. Despite the setback, he praised the hard work of AAP party workers and acknowledged the support received from voters.

“Party workers fought well. We all worked hard. People have supported us as well. But, I lost by 600 votes. I congratulate the candidate who won and hope he will serve the constituency well,” said Sisodia.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to win the Delhi Assembly elections, securing a strong lead. As per the latest trends, the BJP is leading in 48 seats, while AAP is ahead in 22.

Sisodia, a prominent face in the AAP leadership and a close associate of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had played a crucial role in shaping the party’s policies, especially in the education sector. His loss in Jangpura is seen as a significant setback for AAP, which has been struggling to retain its political ground in the national capital.
