According to sources close to the BCCI, the suspension was taken as a precautionary step to avoid any potential threats to players, fans, and staff. A formal announcement was made late Wednesday night, leaving players, franchises, and fans in shock.

“The safety of our players, staff, and spectators is non-negotiable. In light of the evolving security situation on the India-Pakistan border, we have decided to suspend the tournament indefinitely,” a senior BCCI official said in a press statement.
