Justice A.B. Pandey, currently serving in the Delhi High Court, is known for his expertise in constitutional and commercial law. His judgments in high-profile cases have garnered wide appreciation for their clarity and depth. Justice C.D. Sharma, hailing from the Bombay High Court, has made notable contributions in the areas of criminal and environmental law. Her rulings have often set significant legal precedents and she is highly regarded for her judicial acumen and commitment to justice.

The Supreme Court Collegium, comprising Chief Justice of India E.F. Ghosh and senior judges G.H. Iyer and I.J. Verma, conducted a comprehensive evaluation of several candidates before finalizing their recommendations.
