Justice A.B. Pandey, currently serving in the Delhi High Court, is known for his expertise in constitutional and commercial law. His judgments in high-profile cases have garnered wide appreciation for their clarity and depth. Justice C.D. Sharma, hailing from the Bombay High Court, has made notable contributions in the areas of criminal and environmental law. Her rulings have often set significant legal precedents and she is highly regarded for her judicial acumen and commitment to justice.

The Supreme Court Collegium, comprising Chief Justice of India E.F. Ghosh and senior judges G.H. Iyer and I.J. Verma, conducted a comprehensive evaluation of several candidates before finalizing their recommendations. The selection process took into account various factors, including seniority, merit, and regional representation.

This elevation comes at a critical time as the Supreme Court is grappling with a substantial backlog of cases. The addition of Justices Pandey and Sharma is expected to bolster the judicial strength of the court and aid in the speedy resolution of pending matters.

Narang commented, “Justices Pandey and Sharma are excellent choices for the Supreme Court. Their elevation will undoubtedly enhance the quality of justice delivered at the highest level.”

The final decision now rests with the President of India, who is expected to make an announcement in the coming weeks. If approved, Justices Pandey and Sharma will be sworn in at a ceremony at the Supreme Court, marking a new chapter in their illustrious judicial careers.
