The innovative ‘Ayushman Bhava’ campaign will be launched on September 13, 2023, by President Droupadi Murmu, in a ceremony that is expected to redefine healthcare accessibility and inclusivity throughout the nation.
This historic event, which will take place virtually, will represent a major step towards achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and guaranteeing access to healthcare for all.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as well as Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare SP Singh Baghel and Bharati Pravin Pawar, Member (Health), NITI Aayog VK Paul, and several Members of Parliament, will attend the event.
Almost all of the States and Union Territories’ governors, chief ministers, state ministers, and officers from various sectors have been invited to participate.
Numerous public representatives, recipients, and participants from the District, Block, and Health and Wellness Centres in their communities will also participate.
The Government of India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched the “Ayushman Bhav” program, a comprehensive national healthcare project with the goal of providing saturation coverage of healthcare services to every village and town in the nation.
This ground-breaking effort represents a paradigm shift in healthcare services and builds on the success of the Ayushman Bharat program.
The campaign, which will be carried out from September 17 to October 2, 2023, during “Seva Pakhwada,” represents a national and social approach. It unifies communities, civil society organizations, and government agencies under a single goal: to guarantee that everyone has access to basic healthcare without discrimination or exclusion.
The Gramme Panchayats, in collaboration with the Department of Health, other government agencies, and regional elected bodies in both urban and rural areas, are leading the Ayushman Bhav program.
In order to ensure that no one is left behind, its main goal is to provide full healthcare coverage to every hamlet and town, regardless of location.
Through its three components, this synergistic method seeks to completely cover the cost of health services. Ayushman – Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Melas at Community Health Centres (CHCs), and Ayushman Sabhas in every village and panchayat are all part of the Ayushman program.
To ensure that more people have access to critical healthcare services, the Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0 program intends to provide Ayushman cards to remaining eligible participants registered in the PM-JAY scheme.
The establishment of ABHA IDs (Health IDs) and the issuance of Ayushman Bharat Cards would be made easier through Ayushman Melas at HWCs and CHCs under Ayushman Bharat. Additionally, they will provide early diagnosis, thorough primary healthcare, teleconsultations with experts, and suitable referrals.
The distribution of Ayushman cards, the creation of ABHA IDs, and the promotion of important health programs and disease conditions, such as non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis (Nikshay Mitra), sickle cell disease, as well as blood donation and organ donation drives will all be accomplished through the use of Ayushman Sabhas in every village and Panchayat.
The goal of the Ayushman Bhav campaign is to establish “Healthy Villages” and “Healthy Gramme Panchayats,” building the groundwork for the nation to achieve Universal Health Coverage.
The distinguished title of “Ayushman Gramme Panchayat” or “Ayushman Urban Ward” will be awarded to panchayats who effectively implement the health initiatives, signifying their commitment to providing equal healthcare.
