Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies in the Russian port city of Vladivostok on Tuesday, saying that he is simply carrying out the “right thing” by boosting the Make in India initiative.

In answer to a question from the media regarding automobiles built in Russia, he said these things during his speech at the 8th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

According to Putin, domestically produced cars must be used, and PM Modi’s measures in India have already served as models.

“We have to drive [cars built in Russia], and that is perfectly great. Absolutely no violations of our WTO duties will result from this. It will deal with government acquisitions.

According to a transcript of the plenary session posted on the Kremlin website, Putin stated in Vladivostok “We must establish a precise chain specifying what cars different types of officials can drive so that they will use domestically-made cars.

“You are presumably aware of the plans to keep purchasing these autos. Because of the reduced logistics, it would be simple to execute, he continued.

The initiative has been discussed for numerous years, the Russian President continued, adding that the IMEC would benefit his nation in developing logistics.

His comments came after a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor was signed on Saturday in New Delhi by India, the US, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union.

In his remarks at the forum, Putin stated, “I think this will only be good for us. This, in my opinion, will only advance logistics. First off, this project has been the subject of lengthy, years-long discussion.

Unexpectedly, the Americans did board this train. I don’t, however, see any benefit to them being involved in this initiative. only possibly from the perspective of commercial interest. In the meantime, the increased flow of products along this corridor really adds to our North-South initiative. We don’t have anything here, but we do see some potential obstacles,” he continued.

On Saturday, September 9, India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the European Union announced a historic agreement to quickly begin a massive India-Middle East-European railway connection corridor.

On the sidelines of the G20 Summit, which was held in New Delhi while India held the presidency of the G20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the ambitious initiative.
In a first-of-its-kind project, the US, India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the EU, France, Italy, and Germany are working together on connectivity and infrastructure.

After the launch, PM Modi addressed the crowd and said, “I heartily welcome you all to this event. I’m thrilled to co-chair this event with President Joe Biden, a friend of mine. We have all witnessed the completion of a significant and historic deal today. It will serve as a productive means of economic fusion between India, South Asia, and Europe in the approaching days.
