The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Saturday declared the final results of the 70th Combined Competitive Examination (CCE), naming Shraddha Pandey as the exam topper with 593 marks. Close behind, Shashank Gaurav and Ayush Bijoy secured the second and third ranks with 592 marks each. The announcement was made by BPSC chairman Ravi Manubhai Parmar at a press conference.
The CCE cycle saw 20,034 candidates appear for the examination, which was conducted to fill 2,035 vacancies. From the candidates who cleared the written stages, a total of 5,401 were shortlisted for the interview round. The mains (written) examination for the 70th CCE had been held from April 25 to April 30, 2025 across 32 centres in Patna, and the mains result was earlier declared on December 16, 2025. The initial phase of the CCE began in December 2024, with exams administered across 912 centres statewide.
The recruitment process had been overshadowed by controversy since December 2024 when allegations of a paper leak surfaced. The Bihar government denied the leak but ordered re-examinations for more than 12,000 candidates who had sat for the test at one Patna centre. The issue intensified in early 2025 as protests erupted; prominent Patna educator Khan Sir joined demonstrators demanding cancellation of the exam and equitable treatment for candidates. Protestors also raised concerns over the “normalisation” of marks — the statistical process used to equalise scores across multiple shifts — arguing it affected fairness. Several petitions seeking cancellation and a fresh exam were filed in the Patna High Court, but the court dismissed these petitions in March 2025.

With the final list announced, the shortlisted candidates will proceed to interviews as scheduled by the commission. The conclusion of this contentious recruitment cycle marks an important step toward filling key administrative positions in Bihar.
