Russia Dismisses Claims of Secret Calls and Personal Gifts from Trump to Putin: ‘Typical Bogus Story’

The Russian government has categorically denied recent claims that former U.S. President Donald Trump made secret phone calls and sent personal gifts to President Vladimir Putin after his term ended. These reports, which surfaced in the U.S. media, suggest a continued personal relationship between the two leaders, reigniting speculation about their post-presidency ties.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov called the allegations “a typical bogus story” and insisted that there has been no communication between Trump and Putin since Trump’s departure from office in January 2021. “These are just sensational claims without any basis. It seems the media is simply recycling old narratives to create intrigue where there is none,” Peskov stated during a press briefing in Moscow.

The story, originally reported by a political blog, claims that Trump had personally reached out to Putin multiple times and even sent him “personal tokens of appreciation.” These actions were allegedly meant to signal Trump’s continued interest in maintaining a personal rapport with the Russian leader, despite no longer being in a position of power.
