Pakistan has pledged comprehensive security arrangements for the visiting US delegation ahead of critical talks with Iran, aimed at seeking a peaceful resolution to the ongoing West Asia conflict. The assurance comes as the country prepares to host high-level discussions following a two-week ceasefire agreed between the United States and Iran.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with US Chargé d’affaires Natalie Baker to finalize security plans for the delegation. According to the Interior Ministry, the discussions focused on all necessary measures to ensure the safety of visiting officials and the smooth conduct of the talks.
The US delegation is expected to include Vice President JD Vance, US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff, and former presidential advisor Jared Kushner, described by Pakistani officials as “special guests.” Minister Naqvi emphasized that a detailed plan has been implemented to provide foolproof security in every aspect, covering the delegation’s travel, accommodations, and meetings.
A 30-member advance team from the United States has already arrived in Islamabad to inspect and coordinate security protocols. Officials confirmed that a hotel within the capital’s Red Zone has been reserved exclusively for the visiting delegation and vacated under government orders. Enhanced security measures have been deployed around the premises, and the area is expected to remain fully sealed during the delegates’ stay.
Local authorities have also closed select entry points to Islamabad, while the Red Zone – home to several key government buildings, foreign missions, and official residences – will remain under strict surveillance. VVIP protocols under Pakistan’s Blue Book will be fully extended to ensure secure movement and access for the delegation throughout the city.
All state-run rescue and medical services have been placed on high alert, with staff and essential supplies on standby to respond to any emergency. The US envoy reportedly expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic and security measures during the meeting.
These preparations underscore Islamabad’s commitment to hosting sensitive diplomatic engagements while prioritizing the safety of foreign dignitaries. With tensions in the region, Pakistan’s efforts to ensure a secure environment for these talks signal its role as a key facilitator in potential peace efforts between the United States and Iran.
