Mojtaba Khamenei Reportedly Gravely Injured, Requires Prosthetics and Facial Reconstruction

A fresh report has shed new light on the health condition of Mojtaba Khamenei, indicating that he sustained serious injuries during the opening phase of the recent conflict between Iran and the United States. According to officials cited in international media, Khamenei is recovering from multiple surgeries and may require both prosthetic support and reconstructive facial procedures.

The injuries reportedly occurred on February 28, the first day of the conflict, during a strike that also led to the death of his father, Ali Khamenei. While Iranian authorities have not publicly disclosed detailed medical updates, sources familiar with the situation describe Mojtaba as “gravely wounded” but still mentally alert and actively involved in decision-making.

Officials revealed that one of his legs has undergone three surgical procedures, and doctors are now considering a prosthetic solution. Additionally, one of his hands was operated on, though it has yet to regain full function. Perhaps most visibly, he is said to have suffered severe burns to his face and lips, which have impacted his ability to speak clearly. Medical experts reportedly believe that he will eventually need plastic surgery to address these injuries.

Access to Khamenei remains extremely restricted, with only a select group of medical professionals attending to him. Even senior figures within Iran’s military and political leadership, including members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, are reportedly avoiding visits due to fears that his location could be tracked by adversaries.

Notably, Masoud Pezeshkian, who has a background in cardiac surgery, is said to be directly involved in overseeing Khamenei’s medical care, alongside Iran’s health minister.

Due to concerns over appearing physically weakened, Mojtaba Khamenei has not made any public appearances or delivered speeches since the incident. Instead, communication with him is reportedly conducted through a tightly controlled system of handwritten messages delivered by trusted couriers traveling across various routes to maintain secrecy.
The broader geopolitical situation remains tense but temporarily stabilized, as Iran and the United States have agreed to a ceasefire following initial negotiations. Diplomatic efforts are expected to continue, with Donald Trump signaling the possibility of further talks in the coming days.
