Is Israel’s Mossad Behind Hezbollah Pager Blasts in Lebanon? Taiwan’s Gold Apollo Breaks Silence

Taiwanese tech firm Gold Apollo denies involvement in recent pager explosions targeting Hezbollah in Lebanon, amid speculation over Israeli Mossad's role in the attacks.

A series of mysterious blasts targeting Hezbollah operatives’ pagers have raised eyebrows, sparking debates over who might be responsible. While suspicion initially fell on Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, the Taiwanese communication company Gold Apollo has now come forward to address its alleged involvement.

Gold Apollo, a manufacturer of pager systems, has found itself at the centre of this controversy due to the fact that the devices used in the attacks resemble those they produce. In a public statement, the company firmly denied any role in supplying technology for nefarious purposes, asserting that all its products are sold for legal and civil uses.

“We are shocked and concerned to learn that our technology might have been misused. Gold Apollo does not engage in any illegal or covert operations. Our company strictly adheres to international laws and regulations,” said a company spokesperson.

This statement comes amid growing speculation that Mossad might be behind the attacks as part of its long-running efforts to weaken Hezbollah’s operational capabilities. Analysts suggest that such attacks fit into Mossad’s pattern of covert operations, where unconventional methods are employed to disrupt hostile groups’ communications and activities. However, no concrete evidence has been presented to link the Israeli agency to the explosions.

Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah officials have vowed to investigate the incidents thoroughly. A Hezbollah spokesperson condemned the attacks, calling them a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and pledging retaliation against any external actors found responsible.

For Israel, this could be part of its broader strategy to neutralize Hezbollah, a group it views as a critical threat on its northern border. In recent years, both Israel and Hezbollah have engaged in covert exchanges, heightening tensions in the region.

Though Israel has not commented on the blasts, regional security experts note that the timing and methods used align with Mossad’s history of indirect attacks and psychological operations.

As investigations continue, all eyes are on the potential ramifications this event could have on Lebanon’s already fragile political landscape and the broader Middle Eastern geopolitical environment. For now, both Israel and Gold Apollo remain under scrutiny, leaving open questions about the origins of this unconventional attack.
