Mulayam Singh Yadav, an Indian politician, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and founder of Samajwadi Party passes away on Monday,10th Oct at age of 82 due to prolonged illness, confirms his son Akhilesh Yadav. In a tweet, Akhilesh said “My respected father and everyone’s leader is no more”
Mulayam Ji was undergoing treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, Haryana since Aug 22 and was shifted to the ICU on 2nd Oct due to critical health. According to a health bulletin by Medanta Hospital
“Mulayam Singh Yadav’s condition was quite critical and he was on life-saving drugs. He was being treated in the ICU by a comprehensive team of specialists.”
Born on November 22, 1939, Mulayam Singh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh three times and also served in the Union Government as the Minister of Defence. He was 7 times Lok Sabha MP and was elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly 10 times.
Many leaders took to twitter to pay tribute to the SP leader. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji said in a tweet “Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji was a remarkable personality. He was widely admired as a humble and grounded leader who was sensitive to people’s problems. He served people diligently and devoted his life towards popularising the ideals of Loknayak JP and Dr. Lohia”.
