Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday described the state’s Budget for the financial year 2025-26 as a reflection of the principle Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah (may all be happy), emphasizing its dedication to India’s Sanatan culture. Speaking at a press conference after the Budget presentation, he highlighted the government’s commitment to social upliftment and long-term development.
The Budget for FY26 is of particular significance as it coincides with the Amrit Mahotsav (75th anniversary) of the implementation of the Indian Constitution and the establishment of Uttar Pradesh in January 1950. Adityanath emphasized that the Budget not only aligns with the nation’s cultural and constitutional values but also aims to shape the state’s future over the next 25 years.
“This Budget of 2025-26 embodies the concept of Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, which is dedicated to the Sanatan culture of India. It focuses on the upliftment of youth, women, and farmers, with a clear vision inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s priority for the deprived sections of society,” Adityanath said.
He also paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, stating that the government is actively working toward his vision of social equity. “On this occasion, I humbly pay my respects to Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. In his name, our double-engine government is establishing the Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial and Cultural Center in Lucknow. This centre will serve as a beacon to promote the principles of prioritizing the deprived, as laid out in the Constitution,” he added.
The Chief Minister further outlined that the newly established centre will act as a crucial institution for advancing Ambedkar’s philosophy and reinforcing constitutional values in Uttar Pradesh. The 2025-26 Budget, he explained, has been crafted with these ideals in mind, ensuring that it sets the foundation for long-term growth while addressing social inequalities.
