According to the IMD, the heavy rainfall is expected to affect several districts, potentially leading to disruptions in daily life and travel. The alert highlights the possibility of landslides, flash floods, and waterlogging in low-lying areas, which could pose risks to safety and property.

In response to the alert, local authorities have taken precautionary measures to mitigate the impact of the adverse weather. Fifteen major roads, including key highways and connecting routes, have been closed to prevent accidents and ensure public safety. This includes the Shimla-Kinnaur National Highway and the Manali-Leh Highway, both of which are crucial for transportation and tourism.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has appealed to residents and tourists to stay informed about weather updates and adhere to advisories issued by the authorities. “The safety of our people is our top priority. We urge everyone to avoid unnecessary travel and take necessary precautions during this period of heavy rainfall,” said Sukhu.
