Siblings Drown in Pond in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur Village

According to the local police, the unfortunate incident unfolded in Par village, situated under the jurisdiction of the Sewar Panchayat area.

The victims of this devastating incident were identified as Nandu, aged 10, and Nishu, aged 6. On the fateful Friday morning, the siblings had ventured near the pond, accompanied by other children from the village, for a playful outing.

Tragedy struck when Nandu and Nishu accidentally slipped and fell into the pond. The children who were with them at the time immediately rushed back to the village to alert the residents about the distressing situation, seeking assistance.

Upon receiving the alarming information, the mother of the deceased children, identified as Rachna, acted swiftly. Rachna hurried to the scene and bravely attempted to rescue her children from the perilous waters of the pond. In her courageous endeavour to save her offspring, Rachna too found herself in a perilous situation, struggling against the overpowering currents of the pond.

Fortunately, the locals, upon learning of the distressing situation, rushed to the pond’s vicinity and acted swiftly to save the drowning mother. Their timely intervention proved to be successful, and Rachna was rescued from the watery depths.

Regrettably, despite the valiant efforts to rescue the siblings, Nandu and Nishu could not be saved. Their lifeless bodies were later recovered by the police.

At present, a post-mortem examination of the deceased siblings’ bodies is being conducted to ascertain the precise cause of their tragic demise.
