Seven Jaish-e-Mohammad Terrorists Killed by BSF in Samba Sector Infiltration Bid

In a significant counter-infiltration operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) neutralised seven suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in the Samba sector of Jammu late on the night of May 8–9, 2025. The terrorists were attempting to infiltrate Indian territory under the cover of heavy fire from a Pakistan Rangers outpost, the BSF confirmed in an official statement.

According to the BSF, its surveillance grid detected a group of infiltrators trying to cross the international border. The attempted breach was supported by active gunfire from the Pakistani border post identified as Dhandhar. In a swift and decisive response, BSF personnel returned fire, killing all seven terrorists and inflicting serious structural and operational damage on the Dhandhar post, which is believed to have facilitated the infiltration.

“In Samba sector of Jammu Frontier BSF, in the intervening night of May 8 and 9, 2025, an infiltration attempt by a big group of terrorists was detected by our surveillance grid. This bid was supported by fire from the Pakistan Rangers post Dhandhar. Our alert troops neutralised the attempt, eliminating at least seven terrorists and causing extensive damage to the Pakistani post,” a BSF spokesperson said.

Sources indicate that the terrorists were heavily armed and appeared to be part of a larger plan to exploit the current geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan. The infiltration attempt comes at a time of heightened military alert along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border, amid widespread speculation of possible Pakistani provocations following India’s recent counter-terror operations under Operation Sindoor.

The BSF has reinforced its deployment in the region and remains on high alert. Senior officials have also indicated that further surveillance and intelligence operations are ongoing to ensure that no additional threats breach Indian territory.

This latest incident is part of a broader escalation along the border, with multiple intelligence inputs warning of Pakistan-based terror outfits attempting to stoke unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.
