Comedian Samay Raina’s Unfiltered shows, which were scheduled to take place at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium on March 21 and 23, have been abruptly canceled amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his show India’s Got Latent. Ticketing platform BookMyShow sent out messages to ticket holders on Saturday, informing them about the cancellations and assuring refunds within 7 to 10 working days.
The shows were previously listed as sold out on BookMyShow, making the sudden announcement a shock for fans. “Your Samay Raina Unfiltered – Talkatora Stadium show scheduled on Fri, March 21, 2025 (or Sun, March 23, 2025) at 7:00 PM has been canceled. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have processed the refund for the amount… The refund should reflect in 7 to 10 working days,” read the message from BookMyShow.
The reason for the cancellation has not been explicitly stated by either BookMyShow or Samay Raina himself. However, it comes in the wake of the India’s Got Latent controversy, which has sparked significant backlash.
India’s Got Latent Controversy
Last month, reports surfaced that Raina’s Gujarat shows scheduled for April had also been canceled following the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent. The episode, which featured podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, YouTuber Ashish Chanchalani, and content creator Apoorva Mukhija (popularly known as ‘The Rebel Kid’), led to widespread outrage over controversial remarks made during the show.
The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) had previously claimed that tickets for Raina’s Gujarat shows had been removed from BookMyShow due to “public anger.”
Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments about parents and sex on Raina’s show drew significant criticism, resulting in police complaints. The Supreme Court also took a firm stance against the content of the show, calling out what it described as “dirty” language and a “pervert mindset.” While Allahbadia received interim protection from arrest, he was directed to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
What’s Next for Samay Raina?
With multiple show cancellations and increasing backlash, it remains unclear how Samay Raina will navigate the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent. As of now, he has not issued an official statement addressing the cancellation of his Delhi shows or the wider impact of the controversy.
Fans are now awaiting further updates, while those who purchased tickets for his Unfiltered tour are set to receive their refunds in the coming days.
