Lal Krishna Advani, a senior leader and founding member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. According to hospital officials, the 96-year-old leader is currently stable and under observation.
In a statement released by AIIMS, doctors confirmed that Advani was admitted due to age-related health issues. “LK Advani is stable and under observation. He is receiving appropriate medical care and his vital parameters are being closely monitored,” said the hospital spokesperson.
Advani, who served as the Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004, has been a towering figure in Indian politics for several decades. Known for his pivotal role in the rise of the BJP, Advani’s health has been a matter of public concern, particularly given his advanced age.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior BJP leaders have expressed their wishes for Advani’s speedy recovery. “Praying for the good health and speedy recovery of Shri LK Advani Ji. His contributions to our nation are immense, and I hope to see him back in good health soon,” PM Modi tweeted.
Party members and supporters across the country are anxiously awaiting further updates on Advani’s condition. Many have taken to social media to express their support and share their prayers for his recovery.
As a precautionary measure, AIIMS has restricted visitor access to the veteran leader to ensure he receives uninterrupted medical care.
