General Upendra Dwivedi has officially taken charge as the new Chief of the Indian Army. The ceremonial handover took place at Army Headquarters in New Delhi, marking the commencement of General Dwivedi’s tenure at the helm of the Indian Army.
General Dwivedi succeeds General Manoj Mukund Naravane, who has completed his distinguished service as the Chief of the Army Staff. During his tenure, General Naravane oversaw several critical operations and initiatives aimed at enhancing the operational readiness and modernization of the Indian Army.
In his inaugural address, General Dwivedi expressed his commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security and territorial integrity. He emphasized the importance of continued modernization and preparedness of the armed forces to effectively counter emerging threats and challenges.
