Former WWE wrestler Saurav Gurjar, also known as Sanga, has spoken out against podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, who has recently found himself in the middle of controversy due to his remarks on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent.
Saurav Gurjar’s Warning to Ranveer Allahbadia
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Gurjar expressed his anger and called for strict action against Ranveer. He claimed that such comments should not be tolerated and that legal measures must be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
“Whatever he did on the show, he cannot be forgiven for that. If we do not take action against him for his behavior, then more people like him will say similar things. People like him have crossed all limits. We should take legal action against those who are spoiling our society and religion by saying such things so that the next generation can be saved. Freedom of speech doesn’t mean that you can say anything,” Gurjar stated in his video.
He further added, “I don’t want to use foul language. But if I meet him anywhere in Mumbai… no one, including his security, can save him from me for what he said on the show.”
What Did Ranveer Allahbadia Say?
Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known for his BeerBiceps YouTube channel, stirred controversy over his remarks regarding parents and sex on comedian Samay Raina’s now-deleted YouTube show India’s Got Latent. The comments sparked widespread backlash, leading to at least two FIRs being filed against him and Raina—one in Assam and another in Mumbai.
Legal Action and Apology
A case was registered in Guwahati by a local resident for the alleged promotion of obscenity on a publicly accessible online show. Besides Allahbadia and Raina, other popular content creators like Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija have also been named in the case.
Following the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology, admitting that his joke was in poor taste and showed a lack of judgment. He expressed regret over his comments and assured his followers that he never intended to hurt anyone’s sentiments.
Samay Raina Deletes All Episodes
Comedian Samay Raina, who hosted India’s Got Latent, also responded to the controversy by deleting all episodes of the show from his YouTube channel. The show had gained significant traction, amassing millions of views before being taken down.
Raina took to social media to share his thoughts, writing, “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
Ongoing Investigation and Future Implications
With multiple FIRs filed and public figures voicing strong opinions, the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent continues to escalate. A parliamentary panel has even urged the ministry to suggest amendments to existing laws to prevent similar cases in the future.
As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how legal authorities will proceed and what impact this controversy will have on digital content creators in India.
