Mihir Shah, the primary suspect in a fatal BMW hit-and-run case, resorted to extreme measures to avoid arrest. Shah, 28, shaved his head and beard in an attempt to change his appearance and elude law enforcement officials.
The incident, which occurred last week, resulted in the tragic death of a pedestrian. Witnesses reported seeing a BMW speeding away from the scene, leading to an intense manhunt for the driver. Authorities quickly identified Shah as the suspect, but he managed to stay one step ahead by altering his appearance.
In addition to his physical transformation, Shah’s actions following the incident have raised further suspicion. Records show that he made 40 phone calls to his girlfriend within a short span of time. Investigators believe these calls were attempts to seek advice or assistance in evading the police.
“Such behavior indicates a high level of desperation and a clear intent to avoid responsibility for his actions,” said Detective Inspector Rajesh Singh, who is leading the investigation. “We are urging anyone with information on Shah’s whereabouts to come forward.”
Shah’s girlfriend, whose identity remains undisclosed, is now being questioned by authorities to determine if she was complicit in aiding his escape. Meanwhile, Shah remains at large, and police have intensified their search efforts.
The hit-and-run has sparked outrage in the community, with calls for stricter penalties for such crimes. The victim’s family has expressed their grief and demanded swift justice.
“Nothing can bring our loved one back, but we hope the person responsible is held accountable,” said a family spokesperson.
