Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani was admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi on Tuesday. According to a hospital report, the 96-year-old’s condition is stable, and he is under observation for a routine check-up.
A source close to the family stated that Advani was taken to the hospital after experiencing mild discomfort. “There is no cause for concern. Mr Advani is stable and undergoing routine tests. He is expected to be discharged soon,” the source added.
Apollo Hospital released an official statement confirming Advani’s admission. “Mr LK Advani was admitted for a routine check-up and is currently under observation. His condition is stable, and there is no immediate health concern,” the statement read.
As news of Advani’s hospitalization spread, several political leaders and party members expressed their concern and wished him a speedy recovery. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to extend his best wishes, saying, “Praying for the good health and speedy recovery of respected LK Advani Ji. He has been an inspiration to many, and I hope he will be back home soon.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his wishes. “Spoke to the doctors at Apollo Hospital and inquired about Advani Ji’s health. Glad to know that his condition is stable. Praying for his swift recovery,” Shah tweeted.
