Anmol Bishnoi: How the Fugitive Gangster Is Linked to Baba Siddique Murder, Salman Khan House Firing and Moosewala Killing

One of India’s most-wanted organised crime fugitives, Anmol Bishnoi — the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi — is being deported to New Delhi after the US Department of Homeland Security confirmed his removal from American soil. The deportation marks a major breakthrough for Indian authorities, who have been pursuing him for more than two years over his alleged involvement in high-profile criminal cases including the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s home, and his role in the conspiracy to kill Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
A native of Punjab’s Fazilka district, Anmol fled India using a forged passport via Nepal, later travelling through Dubai and Kenya before landing in the United States. He was detained by US authorities last year, triggering a months-long deportation process. Officials confirmed that he faces at least 18 criminal cases in India, with the National Investigation Agency declaring him among the country’s “most wanted” and announcing a reward of ₹10 lakh for information leading to his arrest.
Linked to Baba Siddique’s Murder
The assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique on October 12 last year is one of the most serious cases tied to Anmol. Siddique was gunned down outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra East by three armed attackers. Shortly after the killing, Shubham Lonkar — believed to be associated with the Bishnoi gang — claimed responsibility in a social media post. Zeeshan has publicly accused Anmol of masterminding the murder and pushed for his swift interrogation and arrest, calling him a “threat to society”. After registering as a victim family in the US, the Siddiques received regular updates from American authorities about Anmol’s status, including the notification of his deportation.
Salman Khan House Firing
Anmol is also a wanted accused in the firing outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence in April 2024. Police suspect the attack was orchestrated under the Bishnoi network, which has repeatedly threatened the Bollywood actor in the past.

Perhaps the most publicised case against him is the 2022 murder of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala. According to a Punjab Police SIT chargesheet, Anmol was involved from the early stages of the conspiracy and fled India weeks before the attack using a fake passport. Investigators allege that he provided logistical support and coordinated with shooters, while working closely with Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar.
Operator of a Global Crime Syndicate
Beyond individual crimes, a Punjab Police dossier from 2024 describes Anmol as a key operator of a global extortion and crime syndicate linked to his brother Lawrence. He allegedly oversaw investments worth thousands of crores, handled overseas business operations, and invested in benami properties and sports clubs, especially kabaddi teams.
The first case registered against him dates back to 2012 under the Arms Act — when he was only 15. More than a decade later, his arrest and return to India could unravel one of the most complex criminal networks operating across continents.
