Union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday delivered a strong message in the aftermath of the brutal Pahalgam terror attack, asserting that the government will track down and punish every terrorist involved. Speaking at a public event in South Delhi, Shah reaffirmed the Modi administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and said that those responsible for the heinous act will not escape justice.
“Whoever has carried out the dastardly attack in Pahalgam, we will not spare anyone. We will hunt down each and every perpetrator,” Shah declared while addressing the gathering in Kailash Colony.
The Pahalgam attack, which took place on April 22, claimed the lives of 26 civilians, many of them tourists. A 31-year-old doctor from Tamil Nadu, who was critically injured in the attack, remains on life support at Delhi’s AIIMS.
“This is Narendra Modi’s government. If someone thinks they can escape after committing such cowardly acts, they are mistaken,” Shah emphasized. “It is our resolve to uproot terrorism from every inch of this country. Not just the people of India, but the entire world stands with us in this fight.”
Expressing condolences to the grieving families, Shah said, “I want to tell the bereaved families that their pain is shared by 140 crore Indians. This is not just your loss, it is a national loss. Our fight against terrorism, especially in Kashmir, has been consistent since the 1990s. This battle is not over, and we will not let their sacrifice go in vain.”
Shah was speaking at an event to unveil a statue of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, the father of the Bodo community, on his 35th death anniversary. The event also saw the renaming of a road in South Delhi to Bodofa Upendranath Brahma Marg. Present at the ceremony were Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta and Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who paid tribute to Brahma’s contribution to indigenous rights and social harmony.
Shah unveiled a nine-foot-tall statue of Brahma and praised his lifelong efforts for the upliftment of the Bodo community, calling him a symbol of peace and empowerment.
