In a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), it was stated that the Prime Minister “appreciated Italy’s support for India’s G20 Presidency and Italy’s joining the Global Biofuel Alliance and the India – Middle East – Europe Economic Corridor.”
According to PMO, the two presidents were pleased to observe that the two nations’ diplomatic ties had been established for 75 years.
“They also evaluated the Strategic Partnership between Italy and India’s progress in many sectors and decided to increase collaboration in fields like defense and cutting-edge technologies. They discussed the necessity of the G7 and G20 cooperating for the benefit of the entire world, according to an official statement.
On the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met privately with Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic. Following her State visit to India in March 2023, when the two countries’ relations were elevated to the status of a Strategic Partnership, Prime Minister Meloni is currently in India for the second time.
Italian Prime Minister Meloni complimented Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a successful G20 Summit during the meeting.
On December 1 of last year, India took over as G20 president and 60 cities around the nation hosted 200 G20 meetings. The culmination of all G20 processes and talks with ministers, senior officials, and civil society will take place during the 18th G20 Summit in New Delhi.
