The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, recently conducted a high-level inter-departmental meeting at his official residence to review the situation of communicable diseases in the state.
During the meeting, he provided the necessary guidelines for the effective control of these diseases. It was revealed that a special campaign is conducted every year in April, July, and October, with inter-departmental coordination. The new phase of the campaign is set to commence in October this year. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of public participation, in addition to government efforts, in controlling the spread of communicable diseases.
The Education Department needs to sensitize students and parents about communicable diseases. The nodal teachers in all the schools of the district should be utilized to spread awareness regarding measures to prevent communicable diseases such as the use of sleeve shirts, full-length pants, etc., and measures to prevent mosquito breeding and bites.
Yogi instructed the Education Department to immediately provide information to the local front-line worker or medical officer as soon as they receive information about fever-affected students from any area.
The Animal Husbandry Department should regularly clean all animal enclosures to eliminate the possibility of mosquitoes breeding in the water containers used for drinking by animals. The inter-departmental coordination by medicine and health, medical education, rural development, urban development, women and child development, agriculture, and basic secondary education is an important basis for the success of the communicable disease campaign.
Solid efforts should be made for cleanliness and health protection with inter-departmental coordination. Yogi emphasized the importance of ensuring the supply of pure drinking water and giving a chlorination demo in front of people. Information about boiling water, filtering it, and drinking it should be provided, and chlorine tablets should be distributed.
